Senior Real Estate Services (SRES®)

As a certified Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®), I've been trained specifically to help clients 55 and older think through the real estate side of a later-in-life move — with patience, honesty, and no pressure to decide faster than feels right.

What SRES® Means

The SRES® designation is a national certification from the National Association of REALTORS® focused on the unique needs of clients in this stage of life — from understanding home equity and reverse mortgages to recognizing when a client needs more time, more information, or a family member involved in the conversation.

Downsizing & Right-Sizing

Many of my senior clients aren't looking for a smaller house so much as a simpler one — less yard, fewer stairs, lower maintenance, and a layout that fits daily life more comfortably. We'll talk through what that actually looks like for you: a single-story home, a low-maintenance community, or a move closer to family.

Selling a Long-Time Home

Selling a home you've lived in for decades is never just a transaction. I take the time to walk through the home with you, help you sort what to keep and what to let go of, and build a pricing and marketing plan that reflects the home's real value — without rushing a process that deserves patience.

Family Involvement, Done Right

It's common for adult children to be part of these conversations, and I welcome that. I make sure communication stays clear for everyone involved, while keeping you, the homeowner, at the center of every decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the SRES® designation actually qualify you to do?

It means I’ve completed specialized training in the financial and lifestyle needs of clients 55 and older — including housing options, equity planning conversations, and working sensitively with family members who may be involved in the decision.

Is this service only for people who want to downsize?

No. Some clients want a smaller, simpler home; others want to move closer to family, into a low-maintenance community, or simply want an agent who understands this life stage. Every situation is different.

How far in advance should I start this process?

Earlier is almost always better, even if you’re a year out. Starting early gives us more time to sort belongings, understand your home’s value, and explore options without pressure.

Can my children or family be part of the conversation?

Of course. Many clients want family involved, and I’m glad to include them while making sure you stay the decision-maker throughout.
